Consequently Janata College, Satamile came into existence on 9th August 1979. It is situated on the National highway No.55 in Hindol Sub-division of Dhenkanal district, Odisha. The founding stone of the college was led by an extraordinary and dedicated personality of this locality. The Ex-MLA, Hindol Lt. Mr. Trinath Naik and an eminent strong headed Professional Engineer Bhubanananda Pattanaik, of Dudurkote. The college progressed steading with a short span of time along with the efficient management of the successive governing bodies. Very often the college faced immense obstacle but never looked back. This institution takes a leap forward with the helping hands of Professor D.K. Singh, Department of Geography, Utkal University.
The institution made its progress and its presence became visible slowly and steadily. As a result the institution got its affiliation under Utkal University in Intermediate Arts on 11th April 1980 and Degree (UG) on 6th May 1987 . It is a co-educational institution offering Hons. courses for degree in both Arts and Science.
